Martin grew up in Maiden Newton, West Dorset. After completing his national diploma in Business Studies he worked for 10 years with the Halifax Building Society as an Assistant Manager with responsibility for office and staff management. He then worked for a leading consultancy firm as a director for contract supplies, managing energy and utility contracts on behalf of major energy buyers.
He returned to West Dorset in 2000, and works as Operations Director for a local food manufacturer with responsibilities for:
• Procurement of all ingredients, packaging and services
• Stock Control of purchased and finished goods
• Compliance with Packaging and recycling regulations
• Managing the Customer Service/Office Team
• Development of and management of KPI’s for business performance
• Product pricing, and customer quotation
• Delivery on New Product Development (NPD) projects
